20 years ago, the scandanavians complained that the trees were dying and that Sulphur emissions from UK coal fired power stations were to blame by causing acid rain. The green lobby made lots of noise.

So the UK practically eliminated suphur emissions with scrubbers and by killing off coal powered generation in favour of gas.

Except that one side effect of Sulphur aerosol in the upper atmosphere is that it reflects radiation from the sun, reducing atmospheric temperatures.

The CO2 emissions kept on going up though. But without the sulphur that offset the greenhouse effect of the CO2.

Now I would never suggest we ignore the environmental effects of CO2 and other car based emissions, but, the science and the balance of nature is a touch more complicated than at first it may appear.

Speaking of free market, don't pay them $50 for the stickers. I'll sell you some custom made sticker for half the price? Taking orders now folks . . . .

Gee guys, you can't really be serious about neglecting the environment, can you?
[/quote]Great idea B32. I'll partner with you.

And, Rr, we are only advocating doing our parts to foul the environment--like business, government, etc.

OK. I did have a F**k Iran sticker on my '78 Ch. New Yorker in a Detroit suburban in '79.
Now I really would need the sticker!

Here in Finland we are building new nuclear power plants (do to the Kiova aggrement) even
if we are sitting right next to the worlds greatest energy (eg oil and gas) resources (Russia).

Belive me or not, I'm one of very few humas that have been really close to both Three Mile Island (1979) and Tsernobyl (1986) accidents... I feel great, though!

The way you seem to be riding that bike, it's good that you glow in the dark so much.

I've decided to take the $49.95 and invest it in fuel.

Isn't the V8 certified as a Low Emissions Vehicle in the US? I thought it was actually a very clean-burning engine.

I cruised at 60 miles per hour in 6th gear for a while this week, at just below freezing temperatures, and after about 10 miles or so (up and down a little, but generally flat) the car said I was getting 35 miles per gallon. Pretty good for a sweet V8.

SHOW THEM YOUR GAS GUZZLER TAX RECEIPT, AND SMILE BENIGNLY.

Of course, the Feds got your money on that one and not some corporation whose principals and organization cannot be discerned from the website. But who cares?

Leberal guilt is a wonderful thing; even better when you can cash in on it.

Feeling guilty about driving like a maniac and spewing out tons of impurities from your E60? Well, now that I'm no longer trapping those nasty hydrocarbons after removing the extra filter, I feel a bit guilty. So here's what I'm doing about it ...

TerraPass

For $50 per year, I can wipe the slate clean ... not to mention keep the air clean.

Isn't the free-market a wonderful place?
Have a read of this and it will take away all of your concerns about polluting the environment !!!

All of my own, um, ahem, "emissions" are guilt-free.
So it's the trees' and ipse dixit's methane emissions to blame then?
