I just been out for a drive and all of a sudden have got this loud grinding noise coming from my rear passenger side wheel.. I have new discs and pads all round, only a few months old so it shouldnt be that... any suggestions? im not sure if its safe to drive either

You should check if it's the wheel bearing...

1) Lift the passenger side rear wheel up with a jack
2) Take a good grip of the wheel and try to shake it
--> if you feel any backlash, it could be the wheel bearing or suspension parts
--> if there is backlash when shaking to left/right, but no backlash when shaking up/down, it's probably the suspension parts
--> if there is backlash when shaking to left/right AND when shaking up/down, it's probably the wheel bearing
--> if there is backlash when shaking to left/right/up/down, ask someone to press the brake pedal while you shake the wheel, and if the backlash disappears, it's the wheel bearing

If you can't feel ANY backlash in the wheel, then it's probably a dragging brake.

It would be stupid for anyone to tell you it is ok to drive it.

I suspect it has something to do with the last person who worked on the car and what he did (or did not do).
