CIP 20.00.00 TIS released today.
I decided the full text needs to be included as I noticed some of the descriptions change versus previous TIS bulletins on CIP releases. For instance, the text for CIP 19.01.00 now states it fixes bad AM reception, yet original and some later releases did not include this topic.

I have attached a word document of the TIS as it has all the numbering and formatting including graphics.

Several points to make here:

Does not include any improvements (normal) so this may or may not include MP3 capability for ProNav systems. Need members who get this upgrade to let us know.

These are BMWNA TIS so may or may not apply to our ROW members (probably does).

One thing to keep in mind before disconnecting that little speaker -- I think, in addition to the gong, it acts as some sort of backup communications system for BMW Assist so you can still talk to someone if your airbag deploys, etc.

Yeah, that's true. And I don't know if this will cause any errors in the computer...

I just checked the bong / gong sound in my '06 530i and it seems like it is being broadcasted over the speakers ... Did they change something?

Not sure about all cars -- maybe some have the gong in the small speaker and others have it through the main speakers? I think my car sounds the gong through the main speaker too -- maybe it's a nav/no-nav or premium hifi thing?

Regardless, I'm pretty sure the little speaker in the footwell acts as an emergency backup for the communications system...

And a hammer. Don't forget the hammer!

BTW - there seems to be no grille under my steering wheel (Apr 05 535d E61) - though it has telematics, therefore I assume BMW Assist can be activated.

I got a 530i with Nav and the standard sound system and the gongs are broadcasted out of the speakers.
