Hey guys, I am new to the board and wanted to introduce myself and ask a quick question. I tried a search and did not come up with anything too promising.
I just picked up an 08 528, I love the car and will probably never buy another MB again. The question I have is that I did not get the Navigation....is there anyway to upgrade with a module to get the screen to work with navigation? Also, is there any way to get video on that screen?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well after digging around some more....I found some retro-fit kits. Has anyone tried to run that screen as a small computer monitor? Maybe I can build a PC to put into the car that can run my navigation as well as music.

Congrats on the car! I have a 08 528 with the same dilemma as well.
Your best is to just get a Garmin Nuvi and hardwire it. Then get the BMW ACM unit to run video off the iDrive screen. The unit should be around $700. After that you would need a video source(iPod, DVD, TV).
I'm considering getting the ACM unit and a slim half din Valor DVD player ($150) and a Kenwood CCD900 or CCD 2000 back up camera ($150).
Hope this helps
Mike

Your dealer can add it for you. Probably be around $3K.
