3) The steering is soo much looser now. Now I have to turn the steering wheel 1/2 a turn for what I needed 1/4 of a turn before.
It's probably either a modification of the ratio thus lightening the steering or perhaps there is some sort of force feedback aspect to Active Steering. ???

My Ride: 2010 E63 AMG -- Palladium Silver/Black.
Love this car but looking to switch things up to keep things fresh. 2nd AMG in a row, but toying with coming back into the BMW fold!
Simple answer seems to be that the software controls everything on car...for better or for worse.
That is part of the problem. I had a software upgrade to version 19 at my 15K service. After a year of total reliability, I have had major software related problems including the annoying, involuntary radio going repeatedly mute problem (a huge annoyance when listening to talk radio, sports, or news programs).
Brought the car in for an upgrade to 19.1 and dealership had car for over 7 days. Problem not resolved.
Just brought it back this morning to upgrade software again, but they need car for 2 days and from the sound of it, they still have no idea how to solve the problem.
Ownership problem = $968/mo lease payment and car has been in garage for easily 14 days out of the last month. Where is my rebate??? BTW...I normally get BMW loaners for my 545i, today I am getting a Pontiac G5. I suspect that is a little passive aggressive behavior on the part of my service advisor because I am turning the heat up for not solving the problem sooner.
I really love the car, but I am getting frustrated, and am starting to wonder what it would be like to actually own a Lexus (Japanese Car) after owning 4 Porsches, 3 Mercedes, 2 Audis, and 1 VW. Starting to question German Quality (Mercedes aside, because they are already a total piece of crap!).

I have 19.01 and the lawyer screen doesn't go away. I gave up waiting after 15-20 seconds anyway.
So either this didn't get carried over to 19.01.00 or there's something else going on. I'm non NAV. Are you?
That's the difference. You don't have Nav and I do. Someone must have decided that iDrive without Nav is less prone to liability than iDrive with Nav.
I concur with this. My software was upgraded today to 19.01, I have NAV, and lawyer screen does not go away by itself. Otherwise so far, so good. Had to re-pair bluetooth, reset a few settings, but no unusual findings. Xenon's swivel, eyebrows light up, etc.
I suddenly remember that the SA actually told me the steering would feel looser at lower speed and tighter at higher speed. Maybe this is a new "feature" of CIP 19.02? However it does seem to be that way. ( I don't have acitve steering and the SA said it had nothing to do with AS)
