I ordered my 550i 6 speed sport pack on 10/23 and picked up the car last Saturday. It showed up on the 11/30 at the dealer but I couldn't get out of work. I know I shouldn't post without pics but just wanted to say thanks for all the people on this board for just posting and sharing their experiences. I was going to lease the M5 but decided with the 550 and lease an E350 for my mother's 65th birthday. All I can say is the car has so much pull (with traction control off) that there isn't enough road to enjoy it without getting into trouble. It must be pretty frustrating for the M guys.
I came from an 03 Evo which was super fun shooting and scooting around tight twisty roads without cops but at 34, I needed a more mature car for weddings, clients, etc. The 550 needs some big roads to have fun with which can lead to expensive tickets but I love it. The torque and smoothness are great but what really amazed me was using the comfort access and bluetooth. I felt like I was coming out of the stone age to the 21st century. It was like discovering the DVR.
