First, consider yourself lucky to have a car that allows you to walk away from such an incident. I hope you were checked and medically cleared? Likely anything really bad would have shown up by now but I've had friends walk away from accidents and decline medical treatment...well, just don't.

Did the officer interview any witnesses? If not, your chaces of fighting the citation should be much better.

Be well.

Sorry to read what happened, will probably play over and over in your mind for a few weeks before you can put it behind you.

I don't know if you did any damage to that guard rail, but if you did, expect an invocie in the mail at some time in the future. My daughter had an accident a couple of months ago, some guy cut her off on the highway and she lost control and clipped a guard rail. I just got an invoice for $3,000.00 from our Dept of Transport for damages done to the guardrail. I sent it to my insurance company and am waiting to hear from them, I believe that they will cover this cost.

Again sorry to hear about your misfortune

WOW, this totally reminds me of mine in my E39. Same thing, going about 70mph in rain on the 405 (stupid) on low pros, rear tire blows and puts me in a spin, end up hitting the center divider, last thing i saw was my ESP light flashing at me and then BOOM.

I'm sure your telling yourself your gonna never go 100 again now.... dont worry that will go away after about a year or so and you'll be back to being yourself and stupid =)

Here is my commerical advice... A wise man learns from his mistakes, wiser man learns from others... Well i aint wise or wiser so i guess i'm just a man who makes mistakes.... shit happens, your alive and u saw how fast it could end, so just be true.

Wow. what a shocking experience. Glad to hear you are okay. Fight the ticket and use the stored flat tyre message in case of need.
They will see the speed. So your better off not showing them, it records everything. Most people dont know it but all the new cars have a similar thing to black boxes now. Records all the info, how much gas u had, to how fast u were going, to what color pants u had on. So, dont do it. Ohh and just so u know, i read about this in an article in Road and Track about cars recording the info.

Having read through the thread, I personally would be getting legal advice asap so that you know what you should say, not say, to who, and what you should challenge etc. If you start making the wrong statements now, it may get tricky later (in a worst case scenario in court) for a lawyer fight your case. It may cost a bit of money now, but could save you a lot down the road.

Seeing as it is a E60 Forum, a question about the car; where the run flat tyres?

Glad to hear you're ok and good luck with it all...
