Ok, so you all know my car broke down the 1st day i got it the 08 535i.
just got a call from the dealer service manager, its most def the hpfp but he also thinks its probably the injectors, and that they are on national backorder for around 4 weeks BUT he has a list of people infront of me who will get them first.
ALSO the car was never claimed as a buyback, BUT thi is the 2nd hpfp that it will need, it got one at 9500k and now its at 20k.
i have the time to unravel the deal since i just bought it, they gave me a car to drive but i dont think i want to be in the 3 series for over a month or god knows how long after i just paid for my new car....
who says return the car?
who says get it fixed,,,,,,i got the car for a smoking deal, im hoping im not seeing why now...
any help would be appreciated...

If you're a patient sort: Wait and get it fixed (although some members still had more problems and eventually got the car returned as a "lemon" - ask member Dbae). If you're like me and not very patient at all, return it and (if possible) upgrade to a 550 or M5. It's what I would do, fight with the dealer until they gave me a REALLY killer deal on a 550 instead - just me though. Good luck

TUFF to say,, are you willing to put up w/ hpfp problems? some guys are, some are not. if not then work another deal for something else you may like. "national back order".

The question I would ask is how many of the people waiting for backorder parts have just bought the car ?Talk to the sales manager and get priority for your car.I would also question "probably the injectors".If they have a pump get them to fit it and let you have the car,if you do need injectors then get them fitted later. It's not ideal but it's better than being without your car for a month.

If you were in California, and your car was likely to be off the road for more than 30 days in such a short space of time, you'd have a decent lemon law case (even if bought used). Not sure how it is in Arizona, but may be worth checking. That said, if you got a great deal and you're confident that the issues will be fixed, it may well be worth sitting this one out. Your car will come back as it should be, and your "days off road" will still be there in the event that you later need to consider it a possible lemon. Check that out, it may be helpful later even if you don't use it now. Either way, best of luck with getting this resolved.

I am going to go head down to the dealership and see what i can work out, and if they can move me up the food chain and get it done faster.
if not then maybe just work on a different deak, but i have a ton of bargaining power with it just being a new sale.i legally have 30 days or 300 miles to back out of the sale anyhow.
i def love this ar, but am not willing to deal with problems al the time. I am way to picky and way to busy for that..

Good luck, it seems several members had problems with the HPFP's on the 535 so maybe you can work out a "sweet" deal for a 550 The dealer should be willing to deal since you just got the car and are frustrated (with good reason)
