Nice cars, being originally from Melbourne and now living in the US I know how much those cars cost in AUS$. I could only dream of having over$225 k worth of cars in my driveway. I love both your cars and good luck mate. Where are you from in Melbourne?

Hi guys, thanks for all the comments... Yes, the car in my sig is something I lifted and Photoshopped... as is the E70.

I chose the 540 as I had a lot of detonation issues with my X5 4.8is. Hadn't driven the smaller engine but on paper it looked ok and I reasoned that as it wasn't as much of a high performance V8 I should have no problems. Been VERY pleasantly surprised at how well it pulls and suits the car.

Hey Aussie7, we are down Brighton way. Yeah, they are expensive cars... the 540 cost me $167k and the X5 cost $145k. Sure do give up a lot of $$$$ to the old luxury car tax! They are pretty well optioned up to the max, with each having HUD, Professional packs, Sports kits, Sunroofs, Comfort Access etc..

My favourite of the two is definitely the 540... which coming from X5's for the last 4 years is saying something as I love the E70. It handles very well and has a very integrated feel for the driver. Not really impressed with the rear seat space but then we have the X5 for the days we need to carry the family and I enjoy the swap. Each time I come back to the 540 it feels great.

I have already noticed that the car gets looks and on the freeway other drivers cruise up and then roar off..... not sure what they're trying to prove...

Cheers

Originally from East Doncaster. Typical wankers in Melbourne who are trying to prove that they can't afford your car and all they can do is stare and then drive off. Never will understand what the deal is when they do this?
