After 4 years of driving the E60...first a 530i....then a 550i...it's time to move on to something new. I've had some serious problems with my 550 and the dealer decided to buy it back from me. I'll be taking a hit on the transaction but considering the severity of the issues I'm having, I've decided to take the loss. As a result...I needed to pick a new car and it had to be done instantly....they had no 550's in stock and the new F10 will be in the showroom in months so no sense in buying a new E60! Result is....I went with a 4.8 V8 X5!

I've been on this forum since 2006 and it was very helpful while driving the E60....lot's of great info here!

Thanks to everyone.......

Congrats on the E70. I did the same thing. I liked my 09 X5 48i, but I decided to have a midlife crisis and got rid of it after 7 months to buy my M5. As long as you don't have the same crisis you should be very happy with it.

78 days at the dealer for repair over a period of 6 months. 5 sets or rotors, 3 sets of brake pads, 1 set of calipers, 5 bent rims, 2 tires worn to the thread from new and a list of other small problems....all that in 6 months! The dealer couldn't explain why this was happening....BMW Canada decided to ignore the problem and gave me one payment back! Time to switch !!!

I was originally looking at an 07 M5 that had around 15000 miles on it with every imaginable option...but went with the X5! I'll probably have to get a sporty sedan or coupe at some point in the near future!

Congratulations on the new car! My Dad's got the current E70 X5 w/ the new iDrive (like the F01 & F10) and it's a really good car! You will most definitely love it!

Wow, that's a pretty expensive mid-life crisis. I'd just stick to the other mid-life crisis like cheap women and expensive champagne.
