Smile Good morning to the driver of the red 335 Coupe I smoked this morning!

First experience really punching my car in a competetive "GO" moment. Saw this little red 335 zooming through traffic trying to catch up to me, after about 2 stoplights he was next to me. Light turned green and we both punched. I was a car length ahead and pulling away by the time I hit 4th gear! Very fun, no other cars in front of us so although it wasn't a "safe" track environment it was pretty wide open. Thank god there were cops sitting around as I hit 90+ before letting off the gas!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Hmmm i thought the 335i was supposed to be faster off the line, I'm guessing you punched the gas pedal a little faster?

Was it a 2 or 4 door? If it matters.

Have a buddy that has a 2 door that swears he can smoke my 550i. We havent gone for it yet.

It was a coupe, newer, probably 2010 or so with the 3.0 twin turbo motor. he was with me to begin with but then the torque of my V8 just seemed to pull me away. Lots of fun for sure!

@550NYC

He was even with me off the line through about the middle of third gear with my auto and then it just seemed as if my shift into 4th kept pulling and by then I was a car length ahead of him.

If it was in fact a 335, then it implicitly had either the twin-turbo N54 or single-turbo N55 motor. Based on the results of the run, I'd suspect he was stock or close to it - as even just a 335+JB4 would have meant different results of the race.

Our 550s sweet spot is cruising at highway speeds. Anywhere around 70-100 MPH and the car just pulls like a freight train!
