hello guys,
as the title says, do i need to do anything before i unhook the MAF and clean it with a MAF solvent?

the car is a pre lci 05 525i. Ive been reading through the threads and nothing mentions doing any of this... just taking it apart carefully and cleaning it.

whats the deal, do i need to take any precautions to taking it apart to avoid all errors messages, and the possibility of a light on the dash?

thanks!

forgot to ask, if i have to unhook the battery.. do i need to reset the sunroof or do any special tasks? once i unhooked the battery in my e39, my sunroof never worked right even after attempting to time it.

You don't need to worry about anything else when unplugging MAF. Battery doesn't need to be unplugged for cleaning MAF.
While cleaning with CRC MAF cleaner, be very careful and not touch the sensor element with the nozzle. Squirt some cleaner, let it dry, and reinstall.
