I know there was a piano black trim available as part of the individual program that is very expensive. I really don't want to pay for that.

I'm hoping there is also a cheaper glossy black plastic trim available for e60's (pre facelift)? Anyone have any info on it or can point me to more info?

I know this was available for my old X5 and even 3-series... it was actually the lowest-end trim available... what about e60's?

I don't like either the aluminum or wood trim in the M5 and I'll want to swap that out when I get my car but I don't want to pay rediculous prices for the piano stuff.

I would see what a shop would charge you to just paint your trim for you. I had it done in my last car and it was pretty reasonable. That route may be cheaper than buying a new trim set altogether and would still give you your desired end result.

Anyone know if there is a black plastic trim available for the e60 other than the piano wood individual trim?

i don't know of one... I was actually interested in that too! It would look sick! Painting would probably be a good alternative as well. Or check this out... It is very similar to the leather CF option available on the new M-cars. (minus the stitching)

(yes, I'm plugging my own thread... )

That threat you linked to doesn't seem to talk about any kind of trim... what am I missing?

In Europe, glossy black trip is a no charge option. Piano black is about US$1000.00.

If you want to change out the wood trip for glossy black, I think you should be able to order it through your parts department at the local dealer. Check the BMW UK website (Build Your BMW) for the part number.

What you are referring to in Europe is probably for the new 08 cars... I need something for an 06.

Here's a thread of someone who painted his trim glossy black.
