Gearbox software woes
#1
Hi I have a uk 530D that recently went in for heaps of warranty work ( Sunningdale BMW).
They solved all the outstanding faults - BUT I'm furious because the once "faultless" gearbox is now completely messed up.
Current faults include -
*Changes up far too soon when driving slowly in traffic , eg arrives in third at 1300rpm , leaving just a sense of roughness and vibration.
*Can't handle hills unless you use higher speeds. For example struggles changing gear several times whilst driving (slowly in traffic) up the nearby legoland drive ( frequent visits with my youngster!)
* Seems to struggle to "release" when coming gently to a halt. You have to really press on the brake because the engine /car combination just seems to push forwards and doesn't want to stop. This is really annoying in traffic.
Drive it on open roads and open it up - and it's fine.
I'm miffed , and wondered if any of you have similar experiences with new software?

How long since you had the SW upgrade? The step seems to learn how to behave over time and this is noticeable after an upgrade. It might get better after a bit. If not, take it back to the dealer.
