Gearbox 'Park Indicator' light remainds on . . . HELP

I have just noticed thet the Indicator light on next to the Auto box Shifter remains on when the IGNITION is OFF!
Am I going mad ! does this happen to anyone else - also I think their is a faint hum like something is still running !
Help any thoughts ???

After 15 minutes the car falls asleep.
But even then, it sometimes wakes up and checks the systems and goes back to sleep mode.
Everything normal on your car.
