Just a quick question to all you helpful members. How crucial is it to run the 91 octane fuel in a 3.0L motor? I always have, am just curious what would happen with 87 in it?

I tell you it makes a world of difference. I tried 89 once since i did not have my wallet on me and it was slugish. Once i put the 93 Shell Gas it came alive. I am a firm believer it will put a damper on performance of the engine.

I've been putting in 95 octane. Do you mean that 91 should work fine?

Downunder the difference between the two is NZ$0.05. So 70 liters equate to NZ$3.50 which is the cost of a cup of cappuccino.

somewhat sucks that CALI only has 91. But who's complaining over $4.00 a gallon here.

I was just wondering. I have no intention on running it. I know its only like a couple dollar difference between the two. GOD IMAGINE HOW MUCH 95 OCTANE WOULD BE, OR HOW MUCH THEY WOULD CHARGE IN THE STATES!!! I know some 76 stations sell 100 octane by my house but im not paying 6-7 bucks a gallon!!
