Here's a shot of the DD LCI 535i with the new facelift as well as its stablemate. I had the dealer put on the OEM Aero kit after driving it 40 or so miles. It's got about 500 on it now and I'm still breaking it in. Yes, I should have gone with one of the vendors on the board, but I didn't know until after getting the car. R1racer has been a lot of help with the mods and questions. So far it has the fog light bulb kit as well as the LED lights for the interior. The CSL wheels will be arriving around October.

Now for the questions...

1. I can see that flat front fascia being a rock magnet. Who has done the clear bra and how much did you pay? Recommendations for a SoCal installer?

2. How would the car look with the blacked out grilles? I'm split. Thoughts?

i agree with weezy..about the grills.. show us some pics when you do it

I forget the price I've done too many cars. ranges from $400 to $600 some.

I had the 3M clear bra installed by a certified installer in Minnesota and it was about $125 from the dealer for the front 1/4 of the hood and the back of both side mirrors. It's not as much coverage as most of you are discussing, but I can honestly say I have only 2-3 very small rock chips. It's really not necessary to do the entire hood.

Wow.....you must have had an amazing attorney. LOL.

I'd be lucky to wind up with any car, let alone two smoking rides, after my wife and her attorney were done with me....

You're living the dream - two hot cars and no wife!

Dang $125? thats cheap! I mean low in price! It really depends...

Material, you dont want just any ol film, they'll make stuff up and tell you all the good stuff like we use this brand because its thinner so you dont see it as much or this is clearer and is better. Although film has advanced a lot throughout the years for automotive usage... some are still better than others. Ventureshield is the best film out there right now. I've had 3M before and had Avery and Ventureshield is by far the best.

Workmanship, sure they're "certified" but to be certified all you have to do is go attend a course given by the design company such as X-Pel. It takes a lot of practice to install the film neatly and correctly. The hood and mirror are easiest to do. Bumper is harder, dont forget lights too.
