The only viable solution points to your injectors. Your MAF does not cause misfires. Coil, spark, fuel and O2 sensors/CAT cause misfires. Look at your injectors. I am betting that is were your issue is. You could have a partial spray or not working at all. I would run RedLine SL1 through the system unless you are good with taking them out and cleaning them or testing them.

If it is a dirty injector then start running cleaner every month.

The car works significantly better if the MAF is unplugged, but is not perfect. I suspect that I have a dirty injector(s) and a bad MAF.

I've put in some Techron and will let it work and then put in some Redline in a week or two. Also will replace the MAF, since cleaning it with MAF cleaner didn't help. Thx for all the tips btw. Appreciated.

Just to let you know do not waist your money buying techron or any other of the main stream stuff. It is a waist of money if you are trying to solve an issue. Those cleaners are good for every day fills but not effective for a harsh clean of the system. When you get the SL1 put 1/2 bottle in a half full/empty tank.

We are here to help if we can. Let us know what your final fix is once you get it running like it is suppose to.

I installed a new Continental MAF and the issues came back; disconnected it and they went away. I'm lost at this point. The check engine light hasn't come back on and there doesn't seem to be an issue with coils. There must be a leak somewhere.

I also poured in a bottle of Redline.

Quick update:

Now when I press the break while the car is in park, the idle will change. Is this normal? Or does this confirm that there is an air leak?

I don't know why the idle would change just because the brakes were pressed.

I think it's vacuum leak in/around the brake booster. Haven't had a chance to check it out and not sure exactly how to test it.

You might be onto something. Check the condition of hose coming out of the top of the vacuum pump as well.

I know this is an old thread, but was there any fix to this issue?
