Possibly, before it was almost all freeway - now it's Beach Blvd for half then the 405

I guess the best way to eliminate fuel consumption is to see how many miles you get with a full tank. If you end up in that session driving mainly city - then you're in the ballpark, or if you go on a long distance trip and still getting low mileage then something is up? (which I doubt) - What about plugs? 55K with same orginal plugs I assume?

I am guessing they are the original plugs, I bought the car CPO in 2007 w/16k miles on it so I doubt they changed them. Long road trip coming up: LA to Vegas this weekend so we'll see. Last few times I drove to Vegas I made it on half a tank, if it's worse something is wrong.

they wouldn't have changed plugs at 16K miles. you may want to look at those at some point too, just because they say 70K miles doesn't mean they need to be stretched that far out.

Yeah I was wondering which ones to try for best performance. Whenever possible I like to upgrade from OEM.

Personal experience only from OEM to OEM, there may be better options.

I know but my experience with ALL manufacturers - they use whatever is the most cost effective for them for production and charge way too much for average parts. I know it's a BMW but they want to be profitable too (example HPFP in the 135, 335, 535)

Ya... it makes a HUGE difference from streets and freeway from my experience...

the 545 got usually 24 on freeway but combined 30-40% freeway with 60-70% streets I got 16mpg

M5 19mpg highway and combined 30-40% freeway with 60-70% streets I get 12.5-13mpg
