My Ride: 530i 6 speed

I had an upgrade to 18.xx 3 weeks ago. Since then, my mileage has dropped from ~ 18 mpg to 15.5 mpg for the same drive every day (2 tanks now).
This is both from the computer and calculated (they are within ~ 5% error). Nothing else has changed.

Any ideas whats going on?????

I don't know what might be happening. Could you have changed your driving style a little recently--even before the CIP update? A small change in habits can make a significant difference in MPG.

I think my car has 19.x, and I get good mileage--even though I seldomly am on freeways and haven't taken a road trip since I reset my MPG indicator. My foot is pretty heavy when accelerating, but once I hit non-acceleration speeds in higher gears I watch my instanteneous MPG pretty closely. I also drive most of the time is DS--doing some manuals shifting--especially into 6th when crusing and above, say, 1,750 RPMS. The result is about 16.5 MPG. And, my MPG may still be increasing. Several days ago it moved to 16.6, but them I had my car in for new wheels/tires, and, now, I am back to 16.5.

You should take into account the weather getting cooler. It can increase the consumption up to 10 % from my experience

I imagine you are reading it correctly--assuming you are not looking at instantaneous MPG. If your mileage seems either excessively high or low, then it could be because you reset you MPG calculator recently and have been driving predominantly so that high, or alternatively, low milage would be the natural outcome.

Maybe...my daily commute is about 15 miles total. The place where I work is 7 miles from home.

I drove the last tank being very careful (was hard to do, though...).
I just don't get above 15.5 mpg anymore. Ever on the Intertstae, used to get ~ 29 mpg, its down to ~ 23-24 mpg with the cruise control on.

The weather has still been hot and dry here.

Given what you just said, I think something is wrong. It's time to see your dealer, me thinks. I hope the fix is fast and easy.

i noticed (might really be imagination) that after 19 upgrade - the dif between normal "D" and "SPORTS" is negligible - ie - car is sportier in "D" mode.

that will increase consumption i am sure.
