I have a 2004 525i with the Flat Tire Monitor system. I would like to know if I change my stock wheels for aftermarket ones, is there any sensors that I need to transfer to the new wheels so my FTM system would continue to function properly.
Thanks,
Ponster

Just a quick question....How long does initialization usually take anyway? Mine takes forever and I usually exit not knowing whether it's done or not. I have waited up to 5 minutes without any info appearing to say if it's done or not.

I think the 10 minutes is referencing rolling time. The wheels have to be rolling for FTM to do its job. It may take a 15-20 minute drive in Dallas to get 10 minutes of rolling time. Also, I air the tires and let the car sit in the garage until I am going somewhere that will easily log in the 10 minutes of rolling time. As long as one tire isn't actively leaking, a few hours or a day in the garage after setting the correct pressures should not matter.

Yes, and this is all, strangely enough, in the manual.
I thought it was taking forever too, since the instructions are confusing as they appear on idrive. So I read the manual. You start to initialize, then start driving.
