if the MOSTGW is in the CCC, then that still makes me think it's about the CCC etc. ugh..

Or it can just be a bad CCC. Are you working on it now. I can remote in using Anydesk and see what's going on

No I still have an hour or so until I am done with work. I work from home. I could probably start the car and remote into it and then let you remote into me, but I would expect you'd want me in the car.

as far as the two MOSTGW errors, I did code an AUX cable config into it, but am still waiting on the cable to arrive. I think it's possible that at least one of them is from that?

No it doesn't read errors from a missing aux cable.

so does INPA have recent codes, stored codes, or both? Just wondering how many should "go away" when I clear them.

They have every code that has popped up since the last clearing. You see if it's a present code or not present if you actually read the code from the module

let me know if you have time today to remote in. I used a simple Torque app on my phone to clear the regular codes. Not sure how to do it with the BMW softwares I have.

Just took it out for a spin and still acting the same. I'm not sure what is different about using trace files and man files, but I pretty much tried the same thing in Man files too I think. It's so bizarre that it thinks it has FTM. My mechanic who owned the car before me said he's never heard of an iDrive without FTM, but honestly I just want the damn thing to have the errors go away. The dash is like a xmas tree. Any other ideas?

Also, I need to research how to reset the sensor on the steering column so I can get my turn signals back to normal too. I am getting the active steering rack replaced soon too.
