I have an E60 2006 530d M sport with over 140k mileage. Last year i had a slight wobble on my driver’s side wheel when applying the brake so i changed the brake pads and discs thinking they were warped. It seemed ok for a few months however the problem has returned. I then rebuilt the brake calliper and replaced the pins, spring etc. The problem came back after a few weeks. I have checked all the linkages (without removing any), checked the wheel for movement etc. It all seems ok. When i drive off the first thing in the morning the wheel wobbles slightly, after a few seconds the car drives ok with no drifting. If i apply the brake very hard the wheel wobbles for a few minutes afterward. The problem is not with the braking system or bearings. I suspect one of the bushes may be the problem. Just today I braked from 50mph very quickly to 20mph. The wheel began to wobble and the steering wheel was shaking like hell. Any ideas?

I chased the same issue recently. Even though the brembo rotors I installed on the car about 6K miles ago had no wear on them, they were warped. Same symptoms you describe - steering wheel wobble under high speed braking (slight or hard). I ended up buying a set of OEM rotors from BMW and the problem has disappeared.

Read up on brake pad deposits.. rotors don't warp, they get deposits on them. Quick fix... rebed your brake pads.. and I mean smoldering hot rebedding.. then they'll be fine. You're going to have to change you driving style or do this more often. Or.. you can switch to slotted rotors, less chance of them getting deposits..

If you are going to buy performance parts and just drive to work then something else has to change to make them work as expected.
