When I bought my car, it didn't have a front bracket to hold my plate. I'm wondering what you guys are doing to install the front plate? Did you guys drill holes right onto the bumper?

Here is Cali, you need to display a front plate. I called my local dealer and they quoted me $115 for the bracket. I think the installation requires you drilling holes onto your front bumper? Can anyone else confirm to this?

How many of you out there are riding without front plates in a state that requires a front plate? Any tickets?

i live in SD and don't have a front plate with my new bumper. hate to drill holes and ruin it. you could get a tow hook plate holder.

Here are a few choices:

1) http://www.skenedesign.com/FPBracket/index.shtml
2) http://www.ninosport.com/License-Pla...ries-s/372.htm
3) http://gominigo.com/NHLPB-main.html
4) http://www.rhoplate.com/Products-BMW.html

If I were getting one, I would most likely get the rhoplate.

Let us know which way you end up going?

When I was living in SD for college, my car didn't have front plates. I don't think SD cares about it that much. Neither does OC. LA though, will get you that ticket quick.

Anh shit. I travel between SB County and LA County. Guess I should work on getting that front plate installed. After careful examination, I notice that I do, in fact, have holes in my front bumper. There are 4 holes located at the center closer to the top edge of the bumper. Don't know how i missed those. I assume they are for the oem bracket. I'm gonna try to find someone who sells it cheaper than dealer.

I haven't gotten front plate ticket in my BMW, but my other car has three times. So I don't know if there's a certain leniency on German cars, but if you're going to be around LA area, I would be on the safe side just in case.

PM Pukka. He might still have an OEM one that he had offered me. I ended up getting it from the dealer. $75 for the bracket, and another $75 to get it painted Alpine White.

You can actually get a full ticket and not a fix-it-tix. My buddy on the forum got a ticket that was over $150 last year and I too decided to mount back my front plates. LA is pretty strict.
