It was 'only' a damn meter maid so it wasn't a fix-it ticket from the police fortunately. But the fine is $105. There was a thread for a permanent-looking temporary bracket thing I saw on here a couple months ago that I'll look into cause if I do fix it, I'll just have to pay $10, whereas if I would have gotten a ticket from the police there's no way out of it except for fixing it. Gotta love California!
I posted a pic of my front plate - it sits close to the bumper and is nicely centered. Used 4 strips of 3M Auto Trim Double sided tape and it's been fine for years! For the price of the tape ($3.99) I have it to stick a bunch of other things if I need to. And it doesn't require any drilling into the bumper cover AND can be removed at time of sale / replacement with a quick swipe of nylon fish line.
Trust me

I kind like a car with a nice front plate. However I'm not sure if I'd leave it on if it wasn't required by the state.
All in all, the german license plates are kinda nice.

In the Netherlands a front plate is always required and the fine is about 75 euros when pulled over. Since upgrading to M-tech I decided that putting a big yellow plate (of all colors...yellow ) on the front will mess up the looks...
So I drive without a front plate...keep the thing on the dash so it is visible from the outside. Thus far never been pulled and I live nearby two police stations so I encounter cops all the time...Like Howitzer says, maybe they like the look as well
This is how my ride looks with no plate
When driving abroad I slam on a sticker (which is illegal as well) but is not a bad as having nothing at all...when returning home I just pull the sticker of and trow it away

Texas doesn't require one. I live in a area near the base that is CRAWLING with cops, and I have never got pulled over for not having a front plate. I have never had a front plate on any car I own.

I found a stickershop who makes them and sell them online, but its a store in the netherlands. You will find it at www.stickerland.nl
I am writing from my iPhone. Will see Later on if they can handle us format and are willing to ship.
There are good quality and are easy to remove after a few days ( which ruins the sticker off course)
But at about 15 to 20 euros, who cares

Just checked the site, but they have dutch design plates only.
You could contact them to see if they can custom make one. Mail or call them in English.
