My Ride: 2004 5 series
Front bumper swap
Just picked up a 2004 530. Front bumper is badly chipped. Thinking of picking up a used front bumper and swapping. Will any years work 2004 to 2010? Also is swapping the plastic a easy job to do? Thanks

My Ride: 2008 535i LCI with sports/premium package, Sports trans with paddle shifters, CF emblems, JB4 Software, Dinan Exhaust, Navigation, M5Tech body kit, Carbon wrap interrior trim and CIC Controller.
As I know it, the LCI 08+ will not fit on the Pre LCI. You should be able to have it repaired and repainted at a competent shop. This might be your best option unless its so badly damaged and cost prohibited. If you get a replacement bumper most likely it will also have to be painted due to chips and scratches. There are several DIY's on the forum explaining how to remove the bumpers. I don't want to say it's simple, but once you do it, you will see that it really is.

If it's just paint chipping, drop it off at a body shop and have it repainted. There's really no sense in swapping out bumpers solely because of paint damage. Any compentent shop can d/a sand the whole bumper and repaint to match. It's auto body 101 stuff.

what about a ground effex kit that looks more like the m5. Any suggestions in kits? If I'm going to a body shop maybe I'll just have them paint the kit and install it rather than just have them fix the front bumper. Thanks

I wanted the mtech front bumper and umnitza sent m5tech bumper with the kit and there custom svc isn't good plus they filled the pdc sensor holes before they sent it to me. All the parts are new but I was thinking something wouldn't work because of the problems, so I ordered an oem kit from the dealer and it's the same fitting but the oem kit came with every piece that u may need instead of just bumpers and skirts and I felt comfortable just paying more money and getting what I wanted.
