Front bumper hole/duct
I haven't really noticed this on any other 5 series I've seen around my area. I do see they sell a square grill cover piece but it doesn't appear to be what I'm missing? Is my bumper missing something or is this a functional duct?
Thanks!
Thanks!

That's the cutout for either night vision or active cruise control, I believe. if you don't have it then it should be a blank like the other side is.

Hmm.. I dont believe I have either of those options? I have HUD, rain sensing wipers, etc but not sure about those. Also no heated seats (was a southern car )

This area on my Msport is a solid plastic grill piece with the mesh pattern that is removable..i guess to be interchangeable with a piece like yours. Mine got knocked out by a retread in the road. I went to a body shop and they ordered the part for like $43.00.

Thanks, it appears you are right. It does snap in and out. I wonder why mine has this piece. when I do my brakes next week and test fit my m6 reps I will see if there is any way to make this somewhat functional or useful for anything be it a brake duct or even a scoop up towards the intake. I'm sure it wont help much but since it's already there...

I'm missing both those pieces. I originally thought it was the design of the bumper, but I'm not sure why they're not on the car. According to real OEM they're $36 each:
RealOEM.com BMW E60N 550i M Trim, front
I'll probably end up getting them next time I need to order parts.

You do not have active cruise. I can tell just by looking at the front of your car.
That hole is supposed to be covered by a snap-in mesh grille piece. It is missing.
