Exactly! My dealer doesn't seem to be able to confirm... Anyone have something concrete I can put under the dealer's nose?

Find details here. It was a post I raised back in April. Its got the whole history of how I finally managed to get Brake Force Display (BFD) activated on my November 2003 built E60.
BFD

Hope it helps. Page 4 of the post is the most helpful bit.

All cars built in 2003 will have the BFD feature deactivated due to EU laws, unless you were in the US then its been activated. All cars built in 2004 will have BFD activated as standard.

Mine's a Dec 2003 and I always presumed it was disabled. Next time the car is in I'll get them to check...

If BFD is legal in Canada, your E60 should have it activated allready.

Yup! All 2004's do. It was enabled by default late 2003.
