Okay today I was in a messing around mood(when not). I Removed the key that goes inside the FOBE.
Let me show pictures: After I removed the key, I placed it inside my wallet and placed my wallet inside my pocket Then, I tried to operate my car with the fobe keyless. As I did "not" predict, i could open the doors...start my car..and close my doors. I did all that with the key inside my wallet and the fobe keyless. Was this posted already? i could not find it. |

I'm guess he is asking how it works.
It's like this: When you valet park the car, you can lock the trunk and glovebox with the blade key that comes out of the keyfob. Then you give the valet the keyfob and you keep the blade.... along with your house keys which should be attached to the blade portion. That way the valet can drive the car.... but can't open the trunk or the glovebox. |

More: blade key inside my pocket.. fobkey -- has the door unlock..etc etc...buttons.. with fobkey on my hand and the blade in my pocket...i was able to lock/unlock..trunk....start the car ..etc etc with the fobkey and the blade in my pocket. |
I think you are talking about the emergency keyfob in your glove compartment that needs the plastic key to be inserted inside before the car can be started. Normal keyfobs should fuction without the key because of the valet reason posted earlier.

If you look at the pictures..you know those are my regular keys..the one with the lock/unlock buttons. |
I am very well aware of that! What I meant was that only the emergency key in the glove compartment requires an actual key to be inserted (the plastic ket in this case) for it to function. Not the regular keyfob.

Yeh the keyfob can start the car without needing to have the metal key inserted.
