Posters periodically refer to needing tire pressure sensors when you get new tires or a set of snows, etc. But the owner's manual implies that there are no such sensors. The Flat Tire Monitoring system appears to be based on ABS and traction control sensors - i.e. the system detects the different rotational speed of the underinflated tire. I bought a snow-and-wheel package from Tire Rack (the ASA JH3 wheels they recommend, and Blizzak LM -22s in the stock size (225/50R17)(2006 530xiT)) and there was no discussion of tire pressure sensors. Am I missing something?

Right older E60s use the ABS and speed sensors... newer models... I forget when... i think it was march 2006 and later models they used actual sensors.
