Hello Fellow E60ers...

I just had my tires balanced and went into the I-Drive to reset the FTM. Now its stuck in "Initalizing" and the "Active" status will not appear.

Any thoughts? Do I just wait it out?

TIA

+1, you have to push reset then drive a bit ...the gauge will reset as you drive...

I did drive the car a few miles. I reset it in the parking lot of the tire shop and drove about 8 miles. Should I drive around longer and just wait?

+1 keep driving... don't put it back into park until Initializing changes back to Active

How far do I have to drive?

When I've done it, I kept driving until it changes to Active... not sure if it matters, but try to avoid coming to a full stop at a red light, but for sure don't put it back in park until it goes to Active

Ya I just did that it takes a little while of driving... depending on situation it can vary from a few miles to like who knows how long... hop on the freeway and it should initialize much faster.

Awesome! I was wondering why mine was always stuck too. I would drive the the grocery store and back, it was so frustrating. I'll remember to do this next time before I'm headed downtown (a good 25mi away).
