Hi,
I've test fit my umnitza front and am fairly happy with the fit except one area. I understand many people need to shave the foam bumper support... I am guessing by shave they mean remove a few millimeters off the front surface from one side to the other?
THe fitment issue I have is that the bumper is a little narrow where it mates to the fenders. The back corner is OK because the bumper is flexible, but at the front of the fender the bumper is too narrow. I figure if 5mm or so was removed from the foam, the arch of the bumper could flatten out a bit and allow the lateral fender - bumper difference to be reduced.
Make sense? Is this the foam shaving everyone talks about?

If shaving the foam gives you the desired fit then do it. I've heard of people removing the foam altogether to get their Umnitza front bumpers to fit.

You can shave the foam or purchase the correct part from BMW. There are two types of bumper supports. Standard and then the Mtech support. There are also different MTech support brackets that should be used for the rear bumper as well to properly secure it or you would have to come up with something else. Some have used zip ties to secure it. Anyway, trimming the excess foam away will work, but I would not totally remove this support piece as its not just a support, it also needed for crash protection.
