Picked up my new ride on Monday night....
The engine is incredible - no lag, smooth, powerful (6 speed transmission)
The i drive is so much smoother and faster than my 2006 530xi...
Fit and finish - more leather, solid, good cockpit improvements...
Non-factory tires - (got rid of those horrible RFTs...) - Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position - quiet, great traction in snow and ice in Boston...
I love it!

The 535 is almost too smooth in its power delivery and I miss the initial thrust when the gas peddle is hit which the 540 gave me. On the overall the 535 will get me 0-60 quicker and smoother. Anyone who complians about the I drive doesn't understand how to work it as I love I drive.
Next time you are at a red light on a steep uphill notice that the 535 xdrive has a built in hold so you do not slide back when you release the brake til you hit the clutch/gas. I think that it great and will save slightly on clutch wear. Little known neat feature.

We have a little in common in that I also have an 09 535 Xdrive with 6 spd and a Nov. build and also had 1 of 1280 E34 6 spds built which I sold to a guy in Virginia who bought it sight unseen and I turned down some guy from Washington State who wanted to fly in and drive it back.
