Woke up this fine St Davids day morning to the first real fall of snow that we've seen in a few years in my neck of the woods. There was 2 inches of light powder on the ground which I'm sure is nothing to what some of you get.
Anyway, no gritting lorries had been out and the road surface was covered in a white blanket, so I thought "hey why worry" and off I set to take my daughter to school at 08.00 am this morning.
1 hour later I'd covered a measly 2 miles stuck in traffic because everything around here just grinds to a halt at the slightest sign of bad weather. In the end I gave up and turned for home, but not without first "testing" the E60's capabilities.
I'm sorry to report that the Bridgestone runflats are worse than useless. I tried the DSC on all 3 settings and the best compromise was the "one press" limited slip option which at least kept me moving. I've never driven a car with such crap grip in the snow before as the E60. My old e39 seemed much better when I got the chance to test her capabilities a few years ago.
Attached are a couple of pictures as to what I woke up to this morning. Next time it snows I think I'll pass on the opportunity to go have a play and just stay at home. (We don't get the snow often enough here on the South East Wales coast to justify a set of winter tyres I'm afraid).

all respect it is my first RWD car but will never change for ! or all WD I luv it and sorry I can control it if you cannot, either you give too much gas-eg. I never speed when I change lines and I did it at 110km/h+ too in quite a nice snow Dec, Germany, then DSC normally these days better not to touch and also a bit steering compensation may needed but I think it is FUN!!! ![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)

Don't get me wrong - I love driving in the snow but I think it's not so much fun if you can't do anything to get decent traction because of the tyres. What boots do you have on your baby?

ooohhh I had loads of fun this morning, it snowed about 9 cm where I live. I brought my wife and daughter(I became a dad last week! /yay) to her parents place out in the sticks.
Ofcourse I drove carefully with the family on board but as soon as they left the car, I just had to push that disable tracking control
