I've got a bit of a saga going on with my seats (Beige Dakota Sports seats in my LCi). They are uncomfy after a couple of hours. Yes.... I know that I should've gone for something else, but I love the car and colour combination.

Does anyone have experience of this? I've removed the seat back and "adapted" the springs a little, which has helped a lot. I've had a pneumatic lumbar support fitted too - some help, but I'd really like the OEM support retro fitted. Heat would be good.

I've been in discussion with Andy at Atko.nl. He can fit comfort seats (front only required) for ?2,000. I'm tempted, but it's a lot of money - especially when the Pound took another hammering today. It's looking like 1 for 1 - so 2 grand. Ouch.

Any advice would be cool. I may get softer foam fitted. Retro heat may also happen.

I'm hoping that someone out there has had this done or can point me towards a decent indie.

Many thanks

(How does one ask this delicately?? ) Hey there Bob, how old a fellow are you?? I've noticed that during long drives, (2 hours or more) I'm not very comfortable REGARDLESS the quality of the seat! It COULD be just a byproduct of aging!

Bob, I was more comfortable in the cheap, standard seats of my xi than in my comforts seats with the M5 or current 550i.

Comfort varies so much from person to person, but I also find the bmw seats too firm. The M5 seats seemed the most firm of all, like sitting on bricks. Eventually you should get used to them....may take a few months though.

I have comfort seats with Nasca leather and I absolutely love them. Just the right firmness and rock solid contruction.
