Thank you all. Today I finally got a 2005 545i after a long search of 2.5 months.
I really appreciate all of your advice and comments on my questions.
This car is fully equipped with Nav/Sport/PDC/CWP/Tinted window/Sunshade/L7/Push Button/Chrome wheels.

But I would still like to replace 18inch stock wheels with M5 166 wheels. I had already purchased M5 wheels long time before I bought the car.
Could you let me know how to replace the wheels? I mean how I can take care of tire pressure sensor when you replace tires?
Currently, the M5 wheels are with used M5-spec OEM tires, but those need to be replaced with 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 tires.
In this case, should I visit BMW dealership to take care of tire pressure sensor? or what should I do?

Thank you again.

A 2005 doesnt use TPS it uses ABS and other sensors to detect change in tire revolutions so theres nothing you need to worry about just take off the old wheels and pop on the new ones.

EBMC is right, I've got a 2005 and the tyres/wheels do not have a sensor, it's all done via the ABS sensor.

Hope that helps

I don't think there are any TPMS units in your wheels. On my 04 the FTM (Flat tire Monitor) measures the rotation of each wheel via ABS sensors. An underinflated/flat tire will rotate faster since it has a reduced circumference. Thus there is no need for a TPMS. This applies to run-flats and conventional tires.

That's quite helpful. Thank you very much. I will just go ahead and replace the tires without worrying about TPMS.

Yeah, you're fine. The bottom line is that on your car, the sensors are not in the wheels, but rather in the hubs, so to speak. You'll just need to reset the FTM in i-Drive once you install the new set.
