After reading all of the comments here about the sprint booster, finally installed my today. Got my from BavAuto, followed install instructions about keeping door open for 5 minutes to avoid "check engine light". First time fired up, I got the "check engine light" and the program select on the sprint booster did not light up. I figured my connections must not be tight. Shut off car and waited at least 5 minutes again and re connect, this time I got power to the program selector, but my "check engine light" still on. The car idles perfectly, it runs perfectly and I can change the program in the sprint booster. To all of you that have the sprint booster my question is do I need to reset the "check engine light" or will it go out on its own as some of you have experienced.
My only regret, why did I wait 2 years to get it. Its a new car!!! I don't think that its too sensitive, Its finally the car that BMW should have built. To all of you still thinking about it, just do it! Cheapest bang for your buck mod that you can get and really notice a difference. Thanks in advance to those that shed some light about the "check engine light".

Also 5 mins is not long enough..
Try minim 15 , more likely 25.
Easier to disconnect the Batt first.
Sure you lined the pins up correctly ,and it is all the way seated?

Never really thought much of these sprint boosters seams alot of money for a device that just emulates you stamping your foot down on the gas.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I used to be the same way, i thought how much better can a plug be, boy was I wrong. It puts the "ultimate" back in BMW, I thought the 550 was a great car before, but now it feels like real sports car with two extra doors. Then again, its not really for people that just want a great luxury car and not really push the car. I wanted my cake and eat it too, too bad I waited 2 years, could have been enjoy the car much more.
On another note, the check engine light went out on its own this morning. Off to great start for the weekend.
