buy both! Why deprive yourself of something you like? Unless it is because of money, then buy the M5.

Having owned a F355 for a whopping 22.7 hours, let me offer some learned observations.

The Ferrari will cost twice as much as the M5 to insure, maintain, and to care for.
The Ferrari has dismal reliability
The Ferrari attracts every 12 year old boy on the planet that knows more about the car that you ever will, or want to
Every 18 year old with a lowered Honda, replete with the 12" Folgers Coffee can muffler, 8 12" subs, and 50 cent in the stereo will want to race you at every stop light
The Ferrari attracts cops like a tornado to a trailer park
Females you are not married to will love the Ferrari, and invite you to the bedroom
Females you are married to will make you sleep with the Ferrari, and kick you out of the bedroom

The M5 has better performance numbers, a back seat, a trunk, four doors, easy to insure, lots of parts, an owner’s manual that rival War and Peace

Go with the Ferrari

Thanks.

Most of my post is speaking from 1st hand experience. Again, I caution anyone; make sure that when the wife says "do what ever you want" you proceed VERY VERY slowly, get it in writing, have her sign an affidavit, have her stipulate in a deposition on video, and I might even go so far as to have her write it in your blood on parchment paper signed by a clergy member in good standing. I did all of this but the clergy thing, and still spent three nights solo. The Ferrari has great seats, but after about 6 hours, they tend to be not very supportive.

Trust me on this, the old proverb I have always lived by; "It is inherently easier to beg for forgiveness than to seek permission." does not apply to a speed yellow F355.

But all of this aside, when you mash the go pedal to the floor, the sound that emanates from the rear of that car is pure bliss. It might have been worth the agony spending the six years of exile in the garage.

God I miss that car...
