Sales of 3,482 5 Series this February represents a 16.2% decrease from the 4,153 units sold last February. YTD sales of 6,812 5 Series was also down some 22.9% from 8,834 units sold during the same 2 month period of 2006.
By way of comparison sales of the Mercedes-Benz E Class totaled 3,053 units this month; up 32.2% when compared to the 2,310 units sold in February, 2006. YTD sales of the MB E Class totaled 6,428 units, up 34.6% from the 4,775 units sold during the first two months of 2006.
Please note that I report only the United States sales data.

I guess it depends on when an order becomes a sale.
If it's not until the car is "paid for" then hope to see a big jump for April when LCI deliveries start in volume.

Yes, I would think the LCI puts a crimp in Feb & Mar sales. But even still, the facelifted MB E-Class is selling strong, and it sort of looks like it is stealing sales directly from the E60.

Looking at a full set of Jan & Feb sales data ... most other midsize premum sedan sales are down too (expect the E Class).
BMW E60 6,812 (Jan & Feb) -23% over last year
MB E Class 6,482 +35%
Infiniti M 3,497 -10%
Lexus GS 3,114 -23%
Audi A6 1,794 - 35%
All passenger car sales (Jan & Feb) are down 6% from last year.
Other notable sales figures:

Porsche Caymen 808 YTD -48%
Porsche 911 2,008 +17%
MB CLS 1,240 -28%
MB C Class 6.074 +28% (and isn't the new one coming out soon?)
