BMW Group vehicle sales this February were up a mere 2.4% when compared to last February. However, for the YTD BMW Group sales were up 7.2% over sales of the first two months of 2005.
Sales of the X Series were down 22.9% when compared to February, 2005 while car sales were up 15.9% as the 3 and 7 Series all had a good month.
Sales of the BMW brand were up 5.3% when compared to February, 2005.
This month BMW outsold Mercedes-Benz by only 1,972 units and still failed to out sell Lexus which sold a total of 21,127 units.
Last November I added a complete report for Lexus as I believe that the introduction of the new IS250 and IS350 models is going to give the BMW 3 Series a real challenge this year. February sales of the Lexus IS250 and IS350 were below 4,000 units while the new E90 3 Series sedans totaled 7,500 units. It will be interesting to see how the sales compare during this year.
Please visit my website for the complete Lexus and Mercedes-Benz sales reports.
Please note that I only report the United States sales data.

Thanks Fred. Big tail off on the 6er as well. Must be lack of cabrio sales in the Winter weather but then that should apply to any year.
