Fault Code 2E9F

I called myself searching but didn't find a lot. It is sounding like this is telling me that the oil level sensor is going bad, but is that others' experience. Any other possibilities?

Thanks,

Eric

could also be that you have moisture inside the engine, which points towards a bad Crankcase Ventilation Valve, breather or whatever it's called, that moisture messes up with the sensor reading, thus throwing a fault in that sensor.

does the oil sensor work? I mean can you check the oil level from iDrive?

what type of oil do you use and what engine do you have?

Thanks for the response. Sorry I forgot to list my car and engine type. It is a 2010 e61 535xi with the n54 engine.

I can check the oil level on iDrive. Shows as full.

I'll have to double check the type of oil, but it is the factory spec oil.

So is the CCV looking like a likely cause or a faulty sensor or something else?

Thanks again,

Eric

ccv should be changed anyway at regular intervals, also you could replace the oil sensor as it's cheap, at least you can rule them out...
