-   -   FACTORY WARRANTY TO 100K MILES? (https://5series.net/forums/e60-discussion-2/factory-warranty-100k-miles-465/)

I asked my salesman recently about the cost to upgrade to the 100k FACTORY (NOT after market) warranty (vs. the standard 50k warranty). He mentioned that when my car is delivered, I will meet with the finance man (oh I'm already dreading that) and "he will explain my options". But he really couldn't give me a quote yet.

Did any of you in the USA get a quote on the 100k warranty?

I had a 3 series before this one and after about 70k miles (after the factory warranty expired), it had several things go wrong that were absolutely EXPENSIVE.

Now considering all the gadgets in this car and newer technology that has not been long term "experience" tested, I'm thinking that extending the warranty may be a good all. For example, imagine what it would cost to fix the HUD later on?

Yeah my finance manager tried the sales pitch with me and it was pricey, they had a couple of ext warrenty options, from 2500 and up which i quickly bauked at i said come on guy this is ridculas but as i did with the tire warrenty i haggled them down acouple of hundred dollars, i forwent the ext warrenty for now but he said that i could get it before 4000 miles well i now have 4500 miles and i still want the extended. Funny thou that if you buy a cpo you get an automatic 100k warrenty but if you pride yourself with a new one you get a 50k just does not add up if you ask me but i think that before my main runs out i will try to get some type of wxtended one with the, remember i think you can haggle on the price they even said that you could get one of there credit cards and put the warrenty on that if you could not afford the lump sum money

Just curious if anyone in the U.S. has this pricing info yet.

Thanks all...

I know it was $1200 to upgrade to 50k, I don't remember the quote on 100k. You can upgrade any time as long as you have atleast 1 month and 1000 mile left to warrenty expiration. I may do this later. I think it is very reasonable.

545i: What do you mean exactly, 'upgrade to 50k'? I thought it came with 50k/4yrs? Thanks.

Just FYI, here in Dubai we get a 5 year/100,000 KM free Maintenance program with every E60. Its pretty cool! Reduces cost of ownership in a big way. And the warranty is pretty good - 5 year/unlimited mileage...

Romania: 2 years/unlimited mileage.

I'm not following that earlier post either. In the U.S., it comes with 4 years or 50k miles. I want to know what it costs to upgrade to 100k miles (in the US).
