I see no mention on this ordering guide regarding the automatic folding mirrors which are supposed to be in Premium package of 528i/xi and 535i/xi. Also no mention of automatic tailgate closing feature. Is that info printed somewhere else?

Any idea when those will be released, or when samples of the new colors will arrive at the dealers?

Did anyone else notice that "205 IS MANDATORY FOR THIS MODEL" where 205 is Automatic Transmission for 535i, 535xi, and 535i sport wagon?

Does that mean that there's no manual for the 535, just the 528 and 550?!?!?

That seems.. bizarre. And that also means I won't be buying this car! Can someone interpret this for me? I thought the press release noted the standard 6 speed manual.. so I'm confused.

Pricing will be released probably late March or Early April, around the New York Auto Show. For example, we built new 3 Convertibles and sold them to customers, however, they have no idea what the prices will be. BMW likes to do stuff like that, sorry. Color Samples...that is a good question. Those will probably be at the dealers after the cars have arrived. What color are you interested in? Those samples aren't always the best to go buy i.e. Interlagos Blue. BMW order of operations: Press Release, Build the Car, Release Color Samples and Brochures, and then release Pricing, and then tell the dealers to go to the Ride and Drive.

Yes, BMW has placed a hold on all 535i/xi cars with a manual for now, SOP for manual cars will start production in September, 07. Sorry about the info.

Any idea why? BMW is really shooting themselves in the foot here. They are completely alienating a core segment of their most passionate customers.
First the X5 completely eliminates the manual... and now this.

Yet they allow the 528 with manual (ew) and the 550 with manual...

I'm gettin' hosed... unfortunately my lease cycle always coincides with new model nonsense and being just a tad too soon to have it all straightened out.

Do you think they're going to nix manual altogether?

Will BMW FS allow me to keep my current piece of junk 330i (I hate it for many reasons) until Sept? I just got a new iPod in anticipation of hooking up with my car.. now I have to wait an extra 6 months..

So frustrated right now.. to the point of wishing there was an alternative to BMW at this point.. feeling very very alienated by the marque.

Tough to order a car not knowing what the cost will be. If cars are arriving in April, why wouldn't BMW release pricing earlier? Or are the cars arriving in the showroom later than April?

I'm interested in Space Gray (that one is easy as it's on the 335) and Platinum Gray. Not sure where that one will fall, although my guess is that it will be closer to Titanium Gray than Silver Gray.

Curious. The 335 sedan and coupe are available with manuals, so it couldn't be that a transmission that fits the engine isn't available.

I know what you mean, but we (the dealers) can't change their minds. Call FS and ask...
