I came across these pictures purported to be spy pics of the E60 face lift for spring of 07.
Given the source, they may have some creditibility.
Good fodder for discussion anyway.

Quoting from the article :
"The BMW 5-series which has been on the market since spring 2003 will come out in spring 2007 as a restyled version. The photos are showing a prototype during a test drive in the city traffic of Munich. It is featuring new big air intakes in the front skirt and a modified rear end."

Subtle changes but in my opinion, not very necessary...
Is it me or did the facelift change the doors too? It looks like the rear was pulled down and the line that runs across the bottom of the door windows is now flatter (the car is not as wedge-shaped).

Agreed, but this standard from BMW 4 years into a model run. They did the same with the E39's in 2001 MY. Typically subtle changes to bumpers and grill. Rarely changes to the sheet metal.

Can't really tell the difference. Good. I don't feel too bad.
The wheels on e class are so small, 16"?

ademitt, it looks like I was modifying my post while you were quoting me. After I took a second look, I'm wondering if some sheet metal (doors and trunk) weren't adjusted a small amount...
edit: Okay, after an even closer look, I don't think the doors were changed...

What I should have said is rarely are "significant" changes made to sheet metal. Having said that, I am reminded that the 7er had a new back end as part of the face lift in 05.
In any event, the back end and the nose seem to be slightly modified on the E60 in the pics. Is this solely due to new bumpers or has the body work been changed?

Again, I changed my mind and posted while you were posting too. My post above reflects my current opinion that a typical facelift (bumpers only) is going to take place...
