Im still trying to decide if I should go get the eyeborw software fix now, or wait for the software that will be out with the LCI, ver. 25+-, with the updated I-drive and navigation graphics?

There is a software glitch that causes the "eyebrow" lights not to illuminate. The eyebrow lights are the amber colored lights just above the headlights (if the headlights are the eyes, the lights above them would be the eyebrows...)
This issue happened a while ago with a specific software version but was fixed in a later version. Recently, the problem came back with an even newer version of the software...

Thanks Rudy. Which MY did this problem affect?

Eyebrows work again.
Just got back the car, asked about CIP version and the guy said "24.2" ....
I said "you mean 24.02 or 24.00.02?" he wasn't sure... anyway. they work now!

Anybody that gets any software work should always ask for a copy of the Measures Plan or Final Report. Contained in these documents is the "Target data Status" which is the PROGMAN (formerly CIP) version and release number. From that information we can determine which is newer and which is older. Target data Status is the "Official" manner in which BMW tracks software releases.
For instance:
PROGMAN (CIP) 24.00.00 = Target data Status E060-06-12-510
Since 24.00.01 came out so soon after .00 I suspect, but do not know for sure, that Target data Status is: E060-06-12-520.
If 24.00.02 was created this year then it could be E060-07-01-xxx or if late last year E060-06-12-520.
Please try to get these documents so you are informed as well as helping out your E60 buds.

Good grief. How in the world does a software update get approved that causes an obvious problem like this? You would think they would do a little testing before they release it. Nobody notices that a part of the lighting system doesn't work anymore? They then fix it with another revision then undo the fix, then fix it again?

can someone post a picture on how the eyebrows are supposed too look. I was taling to a friend of mine and he is a service writer
at a bmw dealership and he said he never heard of this eyebrow fix, he said that he thinks that they are just reflectors on the car. my car is a 2007 550i and i know that they do not light up.
