Shop around some more - these policies usually have 100% (or more) mark-up, so its not uncommon to get 40-45% off MSRP. Also, keep in mind, you do get what you pay for usually. Assuming you know the warranty co. and they're reputable and reliable, I vote get it

My main requirement is that I'll have no issues when it comes to filing a claim and this is the dealer I've always gone to for service. They know my car and this is the third party company they go through which I've heard is pretty good (Easy Care).

And stupid me for waiting till the last minute. With less than 100 miles before my original warranty expires, I don't have much negotiating power. hahaha

I voted yes. I have aftermarket warranty, paid about $3500. So far they replaced control arms, steering column, angel eye. no deductible. This already paid for itself.

Especially when you plan to keep your m5 for a while. Just a piece of mind, my opinion.

Do it T, I just bought an Ext. Easy Care warranty myself 4 years. This a real warranty. No BS. All you pay is your deductable. Also, they cover all related parts to your clutch as well. ie. Fly wheel. Most warranties do not cover the clutch. With these M5's in SMG it's a must to be prepared for it to go out. Peace of mind is worth more then the cost of the warranty IMHO.

Interesting, they told me the clutch including flywheel..etc.. is not covered as it's a maint item which has been consistent with what others have said about other third party warranties. Are you sure they cover your clutch?

Glad to hear you did this. For a mere mortals E60 I would have advised not to buy it, but for a M5, it's really a no-brainer. You have race-car quality components in your car and even the simplest job could cost you almost as much as the warranty. Even if you never use it, it's still good to have peace of mind and I am assuming it will be a good selling point, if you decide to sell before the warranty expires. G/L
