Default Exciting no not exciting discovery

Okay so I have had this car for about 10 weeks and I am still figuring out what's what. I ran a check on what options it's got (I wanted to know what headlights I had) and it's got a heck of a lot of them. Why, I wondered, are there two codes for the rear sunshade? Then I realised I have this automatic sunshade on the rear window, not just the roll-ups on the windows of the rear doors. Exciting! So I pushed the button, once I figured out what the button was, and up it went! Exciting! Then I pushed it again and it went down... a short way. Not exciting! It goes down fully with a little manual help but otherwise it gets stuck with the arms about 3" in from the fully up position.

So that's on the to-do list now, my plan is to clean up the track and lubricate it, first without removing it but failing that I guess I'll take it out and do it on a bench. Does that sound like a good plan?

I am really enjoying this car, even though it drinks fuel kind of the same way you could pour fuel down a drain.

Yeah lube it without removing it.

When I bought my '07, I spent a bunch of time pushing buttons, making adjustments, mostly playing around familiarizing myself with the car. I was making adjustments to the seat, pushing one particular button, and nothing was happening.

Figured it was a dummy switch, and forgot about it. A while later, I had my son with me for a drive, and he asked my what all the seat buttons did, and specifically asked about one in particular.

That's when I noticed his headrest going up and down.

I discovered the headrest switch a similar way. It never crossed my mind that I might have electric headrests.
