Hello everyone. I know I haven't been on the site in a while, but I did want to share my gas mileage results from some summer traveling. On a 400 mile trip from Dallas to Branson, Mo, I averaged 30.4. I forgot to run my trip computer from Branson to Estes Park, Co, but I did run it from Estes back to Dallas and I averaged 35.6! My husband made that same leg of the trip with his Acura MDX and averaged under 20. I could have made the CO-TX run with only one stop for gas, but the hubby needed two!

The bad news: I got two speeding tickets! One in Kansas and the other in Colorado. Maybe that's why my mileage was better on the return trip -- I was going slower!!

It's all good

So let's do some math!!

Wife
400miles : 30.4miles/gallon = 13.15789gallons * $3 per gallon = $39.47 + 2 tickets @ $100 each = $239.47 + insurance premiums for 3 years @ $100/year = $539.47

Husband
400miles : 20miles/gallon = 20gallons * $3 per gallon = $60

The moral of the story. Wifes can make really expensive items look very cheap.

PS. Sorry "lattelady" but I couldn't resist making a little humor out of it.
