Just thought I would let you know that the 535d is amazing..I moved from 3.0ltr petrol to 3.0ltr deisel and the WOW factor is great

I know one is supposed to do 1800 miles during the run in period...got 750 miles on the clock and thought id let it go some....my 330is was nippy, this engine combined with the auto 6 speed is just unreal, in the back of my seat from 0-125 yesterday and still going, I bottled it and backed off.

Mixterk,

Oh yes you're spot on when you say what a great car the 535d is. Took mine to Germany last weekend and got up to 157mph, before limiter cut in, on the autobahn with 3 passengers and boot full of kit.

I love the way you can leave it in a high gear when exiting an island say 3rd/4th and the acceleration is still amazing.

Glad to hear you like it.

Too bad we don't get diesel version over here in Hong Kong, otherwise it will be a popular choice with the hiking gas price.

Deisel prices are high here also. 97p litre  however the upside as you say is soooo much torque

My 330iS does 19mpg around the town 30mpg motorway. Ffor the same money, as my 535d does 25mpg around town and....well not sur e as i havnt been on a long run yet? However I can only see plus points..

Take the earlier point that a 6cyl petrol sounds better than a deisel, but then again the BMW 6cyl deisel sounds pretty good for a tractor

I love this car..more talk than an M5

WEll for us deisel is about 50 cents more. its about $2.82 for regular $2.92 for Middle Grade and $3.02 for Premium and Diesel at about $3.50.

So the advantage isnt ALL that much more... Oh ya... its still cheaper over all more MPG and more TQ and all but i'm just saying... its not as good as before where Diesel was cheaper than regular gas. AND you get the better MPG and more TQ.
