George W. Bush drove a car through the back of his parent's garage and into the pool in the back yard. That may be tough to top.

Sorry to hear that. Hope everything works the best for you.

My father-in-law did the same thing at my house. He was driving my SUV and backed into his own car. The SUV was fine with a few scraps under the bumper but the hood of his car was damaged. And the funny thing was, the SUV had the back-up camera. I guess it happens to all of us sometimes. Hope this makes you a little better.

and plowed into the car you parked just outside of said garage? This has got to be the dumbest ass thing I've ever done. Three grand in damage to the various cars involved.

On a rainy night in October 2005, I backed out of a parking spot and ran into the front metal bumper of a Jeep. Cost $185.49 for a passenger side rear lens on the 318ic, thanks Bavarian.

Sadly...I have done that. My wife parked in the driveway (our second garage space is filled with "stuff") and was parked a few inches too close. I backed out of the garage without looking and the license plate on the front of her bumper scraped the rear quarter panel passenger side of my car....It was a "gash" in the car and cost about $600 to repair.

I'm assuming you don't have PDC!
shitty thing about PDC and being in a garage, as you are pulling out, it screams because you are most likely very close to stuff as you are backing out, so if you park in a garage and have PDC, you will tend to ignore it. I only pay attention to mine in parking lots with tight spaces

Ugh, that hurts. That is not the best way to start out a Monday to say the least. But shit happens! Like someone here mentioned, at least there were no kids around and it's all repairable. Get them into the shop and they will be back good as new. Good luck man!

No, but I once left my car (not BMW) in neutral, got out and forgot to set the parking brake. My car rolled all the way down the driveway, across the street and into my neighbor's front yard. My side mirror swiped their mailbox and came off....luckily no one was coming down the hill or walking their dog.
